Every year hundreds, if not, thousands of students swarm together to enjoy a gourmet cup of hot chocolate. They take pictures against a UChicago backdrop, talk about the week’s concurrent Kuvia event and receive a free class mug. The event, called Hot Chocolate Night, is a UChicago tradition designed for first year students and hosted by Student Alumni Committee. As per the University’s recent announcement to cancel all events until March 31, 2020, Hot Chocolate Night will take on a new look new this year.
All students and recently graduated alumni are welcome to participate in the fun. Partnering with UChicago Alumni and the Student Alumni Committee, Senior Class Gift (SCG) Committee has enlisted the help of a talented student artist to design a mug as a gift to any student or alumn who supports UChicago Arts with a gift of $20.21 or more.
In keeping with this month’s SCG Theme of Giving, we invite seniors to participate in Hot Chocolate Night by giving your senior class gift of $20.21 to any fund that supports UChicago Arts and to say thanks, we’ll send you a mug designed by ashanti, a fourth year trans disciplinary artist whose bio you can read for yourself here.
