the dean's fund for student life

The Dean's Fund for Student Life supports innovative student projects by providing funds to attend conferences and conduct intensive research in the United States and abroad. The Dean’s Fund provides opportunities that would not be available to students otherwise. Projects selected enhance and enrich the UChicago community at large. Because of donations to the Dean's Fund, a record number of thirty-three projects were supported this past year. By giving to the Dean's Fund you are not only directly supporting your peers, but also advancing the academic and social progress of the University.

Past projects have included:

  • Creation of a cDNA library from samples in Washington Park

  • Organization the Woodlawn Art in Action community arts festival

  • Eckhart Consulting case competitions and the Chicago Society's "China and the World" Conference

  • Development of the Gilbert F White Leadership Program

  • Creation of the Chicago Inner City Development Association's Canaryville Little League program

  • The first annual Sex Week

With your support, the Dean's Fund will continue funding new projects and celebrating innovative student work.
